No Boys Allowed!

Can I just tell you all how excited I am?  In just over three weeks, my mom, her sweet friend Kim and I are going on a "No Boys Allowed" trip to Sutter Creek, California!  It's one of my absolute favorite places in the world (other than our honeymoon desination of Costa Rica).  And what's not to love about it?

My mom's aunt (my great Aunt) Betty lives in Sutter Creek and used to own a ranch that was an entire mountain.  She's older now and has sold it off, but it's always fun to go see the golf course that it became and relive memories from their ranch.

We'll be staying at the always amazing Hanford House.  Actually, we're staying at their cabin at the top of the mountain.  Here's a little peek at what's in store for us gals:

The gorgeous cabin we'll call home...

Can't complain about the view on the drive up!

And the view of the back "yard"... this what you'd be looking at from the hot tub!

So, that's all you get for now!  I'm sure I'll have plenty more after the trip but that's what I'm looking forward to!  Have a great week!  Mine is off to a slllllooooow start and it's got to get better from here!

Busted.

Today is shaping up to be a rough one.  Yes, it's Friday.  Yes, I get to leave at noon.  In fact, it's even my 30th birthday.  But 30 isn't shaping up to be so fabulous (pun intended).

The zipper on my favorite jeans busted today.  Not just like kinda came a little bit apart.  But straight up tore the teeth off the zipper and my pants are now gaping open.  At work.  And I still have thirty minutes left to sit at my desk trying to hide.  With a huge happy birthday balloon that makes hiding, well, let's just say a little bit tricky.  I'm going to spend the next twenty minutes convincing myself that my jeans that are six years old if I'm being honest are worn out.  NOT too small.  But....  it might be pointless.  I think I've lost the last shred of my youth!  Happy friggin 30th, huh?

Hope you are having a better day than me -- enjoy the weather this weekend if you're in Dallas!

Happy Anniversary to US!

Wow... anniversaries are becoming so weird to me!  It's like, on one hand, I can't believe that it's already been two years since I married my best friend and confident, my rock.  Seriously, two years?  Our vows still seem so fresh, our honeymoon still so vivid (errr maybe a little blurry if I'm being honest -- we did spend an awful lot of time at the swim up bar!).  But you know what I mean, I can't believe how fast time is flying!  And then, in the very next instant, I can't really remember what it was like before we were married.  Of course I can remember, but maybe just not imagine going back there?  I don't know what it is!

I guess all this is just my public proclomation of how lucky I am.  I am so lucky to have found the ying to my yang.  Literally, I didn't know it was possible for someone to so perfectly fit me.  One second, he's balancing out my quirks, then the next we are totally in sync and somehow both ways, it just works for us.  Of course, it hasn't been all smooth sailing for these first two years, but he's kept me grounded in what's important, laughing at it all, and most of all, knowing how very, very much I am loved.

Kels, I love you more and more with every up and down we have.  Together, it's all about the ride -- we'll get wherever it is we're going.  I can't wait to see what the future holds but know that I'm buckling my seatbelt, scrambling for the "oh sh!^ handle" and ready for the ride.  Love you!

So, with that... I'll leave you with this little flashback on our big day two years ago:  http://www.images.bludoorstudios.com/candkwedding/
